Collage can be a fun, low-stakes way to experiment with ideas. In the past I've made collages as a form of art therapy. In 2023, I took some classes that taught me to approach collage thinking about color and composition, but also with a sense of play. Some of my collages are made solely of hand-painted papers, while others incorporate parts of monotypes.   I tend to use a geometric structure in these pieces, which is very different from my method with painting. I find it interesting that this structure makes some collages look like windows and some like pages from a book.  Either way, they feel like glimpses into another world.
